In November 1989, as communism collapses and the Berlin Wall's downfall is imminent, there remains one final clandestine mission to complete. A fortnight ago, an undercover MI6 agent was killed in Berlin. He possessed valuable intelligence from a source in the East - a list purportedly containing the identities of all espionage agents operating in Berlin, from all factions. Unfortunately, no such list was discovered on his person.

Now, Lorraine Broughton, a seasoned spy unaffiliated with Berlin, has been deployed into this volatile mixture of social unrest, counter-espionage, failed defections, and covert assassinations. Her mission: retrieve the elusive list and preserve the lives of the British agents whose safety hinges upon its retrieval.
